Elizabeth Jane Hurley was an English model, actress, and TV personality who rose to fame during the 1990s after she was the girlfriend of Hugh Grant. Hurley became the focus of media after Grant was the focus of attention worldwide for the success of Four Weddings and a Funeral. Hurley accompanied Grant at the Los Angeles premiere of the film in the Versace plunge dress, held with gold safetypins. Hurley's relationship to Estee Lauder, a cosmetics maker, has been seen as the pinnacle of her professional life. Hurley was commissioned by Estee Lauder as her first model when she was at the age of 29. From 1995 onwards, she has been employed as a face for Estee Lauder's cosmetics including Sensuous Intuition & Pleasures. She is best-known for her role as Vanessa Kensington, in the hit spy comedy films International Man of Mystery (2007) as well as Austin Powers The Spy Who Shagged Me (2000). Hurley has an eponymous swimwear brand and also models the brand. Perry's early attempts at fame in mainstream music were unsuccessful. Perry was signed to two labels before being then dropped by both labels before the release of any music. Capitol Records however released Perry's EP Ur So Gay in 2007. The track that was the title song was a fun and playful single that garnered little or no attention. "I kissed a Girl a straightforward ode expressing sexual curiosity backed with an electro-pop beat that was hardedged caused her to make a bigger splash just a few months after. The track quickly caused debate as some critics accused it for promoting same-sex relations as well as others argued that the sexually explicit scene that it depicted was a sly way to appeal to the fantasies of males about female sexuality. I Kissed a Girl became the number one hit in the world due to the combination of titillation with a polished melody. It also helped her sell a number of albums, including the album One of the Boys. The album's 2nd single Hot N Cold also proving popular the album much of the songs Perry created herself ultimately registered greater than three million copies within the United States.
